ABOUT

I am a social scientist pursuing broad research interests. The social issues that I currently examine range from implications of social media on public health and media literacy to risk communication and racial justice (This variety reflects my curiosity and passion, as well as inability to stay put). On this webpage I will be updating the development in these streams of research. I am a Professor in the School of Communication at the Ohio State University. I am also courtesy faculty in the College of Public Health and a member of the Comprehensive Cancer Center of OSU. I received my PhD from Michigan State University (I believe in public education: proud to be a product of and contributor to it). I enjoy teaching courses on risk communication and new media-based health communication, researching with graduate students, and collaborating with colleagues in other disciplines.
